Installation¶
This guide will help you install Arc on your system.
Prerequisites¶
- Python 3.12 or higher (Python 3.13 is also supported)
- uv - Fast Python package manager (we'll install this if you don't have it)
Installing uv¶
Arc uses uv for dependency management. If you don't have uv installed:
# On macOS/Linux
curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh
# On Windows
powershell -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | iex"
Installing Arc¶
Option 1: Install from PyPI (Recommended)¶
Install the latest stable release from PyPI:
Note: The package is named nl-arc on PyPI (to avoid naming conflicts), but the command you run is still arc.
Option 2: Install from Source (Development)¶
Clone the repository and install in editable mode:
# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/non-linear-ai/arc
cd arc
# Install dependencies
uv sync
# Install with development dependencies (for contributors)
uv sync --dev
Verifying Installation¶
